This verse is amazing to me, at once full of despair for those who aren’t assured of their salvation in Christ and full of hope and joy for those of us who are. I didn’t even try to find a picture that might depict His coming. There’s no photo, no painting that could accurately depict such a glorious day (or night) so I went with the sea and the waves. I do love watching a storm out over the water anyway.
I’ll share a secret with you that only one person in the world has known: I have twice dreamed of the Second Coming. Once was when I was a kid and the beauty and the majesty of it scared me to death — also, it was before I was saved. The second time was just a few weeks ago and even now, at 45, I don’t have the words to adequately describe it. This time, in my dream and when I awoke, I wasn’t afraid at all! I was joyous and humbled and worshipful all at once. And I know that anything that I could have dreamed has to be only the tiniest fraction of His magnificence when He returns.
I don’t know a lot about “end times” prophecy but I have common sense and common sense and logic dictate, as I noted in another post, that every day that passes brings us closer to Him. I pray that God will teach me to speak boldly to others about Christ and salvation that they might receive Him, I pray that I will keep my own spiritual house in order in my own heart, and I pray that others might see His glory through me.

Willow, that is such a powerful insight and I am in 100% full agreement with you!
Oh, praise You O’God for preparing the day for Your Son to come receive His bride! May we be ready and not ashamed!
In His amazing grace,
Jill
I think your picture goes very well with that verse.
Love the picture and goes well with the verse- can’t even imagine in my finite mind what that day will be like. Trumpets will sound and we His children will be caught up in the air. O what a day what a time. Glory to God- may we lead others to be a part of this great time. thanks for posting this. Be Blessed
Such an encouraging verse for this very discouraging morning. My heart is aching for a country that chose money over life.
Willow,
These were my thoughts today also. My daughter is memorizing verses about Christ’s coming kingdom and I look forward eagerly to that day!
This is beautiful!
And so true! We are definitely CLOSER every day! PRAISE GOD!
The fig tree has definitely blossomed. I believe we are the generation that will see His return, my friend. I’m so glad that you shared that you’ve dreamed of it. My husband has, too. The only thing He could describe was a loud sound and a bright bright light, brighter than the sun on a cloudless day. Beyond that, he had no words. The thought of Christ’s return used to scare me to death, but now I look so forward to it! You mentioned that you didn’t know a lot about end times prophecy. I’d like to suggest Grant Jeffrey - he comes on TBN Wednesday nights at 7:30 CST. Google him - he is very knowlegeable and biblically based. You might enjoy it.
Great WFW post! Happy WFW!
I had a distinct feeling yesterday…the “expectant” feeling of something brewing. I think that may be why the prompting came early—so very early
The Lord is drawing us to our knees with the knowledge of His soon return! I want to be found in HIS WORD—or praying—or leading someone to HIM! BUSY about His purpose and calling!
Your words were perfect! They actually tie right in with my post! Bless you for your kindness to me this morning!

This beautiful and so timely. I feel the same way you do, sadness for those who don’t know Christ and the urgency to reach them with His love, yet at the same time joy and expectation to see my Savior, once and forever, in His full glory!
Amazing dream God gave you! You are truly blessed my dear sister, truly blessed!
