Thankful Thursday

Ephesians 5:19-20
19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Wow, another Thankful Thursday already! Where’d the week go?

I had posted last week for Thankful Thursday that my son wanted to attend church with me. He did go with me on Sunday and wants to go again! I am so thankful to God that He has opened my son’s heart to hearing His word.

I am thankful for the Bible study that I’m attending. Parts of the lesson are really difficult for me but an amazing thing happened last night while I was working in the workbook: I think God revealed part of His purpose and plan for me. I still need to pray about it and let Him direct me to be sure that it’s truly His plan and not my own but it was a pretty amazing moment!

I am thankful that every day the love between my husband and me gets deeper and the bonds of our marriage go stronger.

I am thankful that, no matter what the troubles that assault my family, my friends, the world, I can give them up to God’s loving hands and know that the troubles will be handled according to His will and in His time and I don’t need to worry about them. I’m not perfect in this area, as worry and anxiety are second nature to me, but He is reinforcing this with me every single day.

And I’m thankful for all of the hymns and praise songs that I learned when I was much younger, from the children’s song “This Little Light of Mine” all the way through more complicated pieces set to Bach such as “Honor and Glory”. These songs pop into my head and heart, unbidden, at various times through the day and I’m at instant praise of God! I’ve posted a song I really like here if you’d like to listen and please visit Grace Alone for more Thankful Thursday blog posts!

These are very significant things for which to share thanks! Marriage is sacred - closeness is beautiful! AMEN! Bringing our children to God is so hard and so precious and so tender and so emotional sometimes, isn’t it?
