I have a confession to make regarding my Bible reading.
I’m ashamed of it but it’s the truth: As I read the Old Testament, there are portions that I find very dry and difficult and I have enormous problems getting through them, let alone retaining any of it. Examples would include the “begats” in Genesis, some of the very specific construction instructions as for the Ark of the Covenant and such, and the listings of fathers/sons/kings/guard that occur in Kings and Chronicles. I read them but I have to say that very little of that type of thing sticks with me even though before I read every day I pray for understanding.
Any ideas or suggestions for better absorption? I know this information is important or it wouldn’t have been included!
And regarding Tuesday, I expect to have the blog offline altogether at least a good chunk of the day while I do some little maintenance type things. Will definitely have it back up on Wednesday.

you’ve got me. i have the same problem trying to read it….
Blessings Willow…This is an honest assessment but I don’t think anyone gets excited reading “begetting” or legalism of OT…except historical fact finding people. I have no idea how to make it enjoyable except in a study when you realize what this link means…and that is a discovery that each must do! Truthfully, these are my least favorite readings, unless I’m searching for a specific nugget of knowledge, a treasure…I look & skin through them until I reach the content. Later, I discover…oh I missed that..and go back to check it out! Sorry, I’m not really a big help!
I wanted to comment because I saw your beautiful new button … and really like it!!! Did you do it? Awesome!!! And then I noticed The Bookstore & clicked and went there…is this yours also? I’m assuming “yes”…what a good idea. I use to sell
Christian books and items like others do tupperware parties and I truly loved it! May God prosper your new endeavors! Looking forward to what you’re up to…God bless & keep you & yours!
